Life has been pretty hectic around here. From home reno to work
crisis and general everyday life. I'll start with the reno. It started sometime in December or last year - obviously - we took out the bathroom walls, the floor, ceiling, tub, and sink. Tore down the wall between my old room and my brothers. Got rid of the linen closet to give mum more closet space. The linens are in a different place now. Took away almost all the counter tops in the kitchen and the wall separating it from the living room. Had an electrician out and fixed a doosey of electrical fubar. He still needs to do a little bit more, but that'll come in the next month or two.
Onto the dreaded work topic. I got another raise! It was only five cents. Totally won the jackpot. The owner of my company has a few different names for his stores. I'm under the PriceSmart Foods banner (PSF for short), and there are employees that are still under the Save-On-Foods banner (SOF) from when it switched to PSF. There have been a few meetings within the Union and a new contract has been made. It's kinda awesome. I won't get into details as I'm not sure if it's kosher or not. Anyway, hours have been cut a fair bit as per normal work situations. I am passively looking for another job to bring in a little more income and it's tough. Co-workers have come and gone. I'm finally in Grid B, which is better than Grid C, eh? I learnt to create three new cakes a few months ago, which was pretty awesome.
Onto the sad. a few days before the cake training shift I was taking part in, Dagger, had gotten sick and started throwing up everywhere. We were going to take him to the vet that day, but, I needed to get off work first. Mr-Jaunty
came to the store in the morning and I knew he had passed away. I asked if I could leave and bury my kitten. My manager said yes, to which I am very thankful for.
We buried him, we mourned, and we moved on.
It seems as though space has run out, unfortunate.
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend. This is Kate, signing off.
